Hog Lick data center proposal (White Hall)

A data center proposed by Hog Lick Aggregates on its land in White Hall, near Fairmont. The company says 300 acres are available right away, with 1,500 more for expansion, and envisions up to 1 gigawatt of power in three phases, starting at 150 megawatts.

The project is at the feasibility-study stage. According to WV MetroNews, the company has no timetable and is also open to proposals to develop the site for manufacturing or commercial use. The study is looking at geothermal cooling instead of fresh water.

Marion County Commission President Linda Longstreth said the commission had not been informed and that there should be “public awareness and open discussion” if the area is considered.
